What is Golden Milk?

Golden Milk Recipe:  I was looking for an ideal bedtime hot drink that wasn’t loaded with carbohydrates and Keto friendly. While many recipes use cow’s milk as a base, I prefer plant-based milk like coconut or almond because they’re higher in fat content which makes them perfect for my diet plan! Plus these types of drinks have almost identical flavor profiles so you can enjoy the taste without feeling guilty about what goes into it – unlike some other beverages out there who would rather give us diabetes than offer something refreshing after dinner?

Golden milk, also known as Haldi Doodh in Hindi or as turmeric milk in popular culture (Turmeric Latte in Starbucks!), is a drink with a lot of history. It has been a part of Indian Ayurvedic culture for centuries. The drink is golden in color, arising from yellow turmeric mixed into white milk. Its beautiful presentation has made it a common sight at trendy cafés listed as a “turmeric latte” and at specialty markets around the country in recent years.

There are loads of recipes to make golden milk or golden tea as it’s sometimes called. The basic recipe involves combining animal or plant milk, turmeric, cinnamon, ginger, and some kind of healthy sweetener.  Black pepper is also essential as the active ingredient Piperine helps the curcumin (the main active ingredient in turmeric)  absorb into the bloodstream. The mixture is heated to provide a warm, soothing drink that’s reported to help prevent common ailments, including:

There are many people out there including medical professionals that will tell you that none of the health benefits of golden milk have been proven and of course they are right. Still, many people have been taking it for centuries so that’s enough evidence for me. Curcumin does have real medical benefits and more modern supplements like Novasol Curcumin can have life-changing benefits.

Golden milk is also an excellent source of potassium. Studies have shown that potassium is connected to a lower risk of stroke-associated mortality, and generally lower risk of cardiovascular disease.

Okay, time to get to the recipe:
